We are back in the studio after a few fantastic, jam-packed days in London. Firstly we made our way to Alegre Media's Press Day. Alegre is a PR company for high end children's clothing brands, run by Kate, a very close friend of ours. Kate has some great companies on her books and and we were so happy to be a part of the day, showcasing our pom pom play tent! It was great to meet some of the designers, chat to lots of bloggers and of course catch up with Kate. Our play tent was a big hit with some of the little ones running around.

It was lovely to see our friend Catherine there as part of Craft Scotland with her fantastic knitted textiles. She has just launched her stunning new collection of cushions and merino wool blankets, you should definitely take a look http://catherinemacgruer.com. It was a fantastic event with so many companies designing such wonderful work. We will definitely be going back next year!

We are so excited for The Handmade Fair this weekend. We have spent the day getting organised and packing the van for our big trip to London tomorrow! We have just been looking at who else will be there this weekend exhibiting and thought we would share with you some of the beautiful work that we are really excited to see!
Witts Design, another Norfolk design team, will be there with their beautiful screen printed homewares. Stephanie and Michelle will also be holding a fabric printing workshop at The Handmade Fair which we would definitely recommend.
We are really looking forward to seeing Karen from Sirocco Designs again with her personalised prints and lovely stationery range! We were lucky enough to be next to Karen last year at The Handmade Fair, so it will be great to catch up with her.
Me Encanta, is a beautiful jewellery company that we stumbled across last year at The Handmade Fair! They sell unique and eye catching pieces that we just love- definitely one to look out for!
Lucky Lobster is a hand designed print company, producing fun and bright lino prints of all different things- we bought a beautiful Flamingo print last year and we just love it!
You must definitely make sure that you go and see the wonderfully individual work of the Indoor Bottanist. They produce a fantastic range of terrariums but you can also design your own- they are just amazing!
Finally... we are so excited to announce that we will also be displaying Cecily May Rose's (Izzi's Sister!) brand NEW beautifully hand designed colourful animal greetings cards on our stand!
So please pop along and see us at stand E34 at The Handmade Fair - we can not wait to be there!
Hi Cecily! Lovely to see you… even though you’re my sister!
We are very excited to hear about your latest venture Cecily May Rose, designing colourful and bold greetings cards.
How long have you been drawing/designing?
I have been drawing as long as I can remember and have kept scrapbooks since the age of 6. Now I am at The University of Nottingham studying Archaeology and Art History, I really missed being creative, which I spent a lot of time doing at school and I LOVED! Therefore I started again and began a sketchbook, which I draw and collage in during my spare time.
What/Who is your inspiration?
I spend a lot of time collecting magazine and paper cuttings, my favourite being Stella Magazine (The Telegraph Sunday supplement). I loved the fashion articles and images, and tend to get my main inspiration from the clothing prints. I was introduced to the work of William Morris when I was younger; in response, I collect pattern found within foliage, trees and flowers originating here on our family farm.
We LOVE your combination of silhouettes and pattern, where has this evolved from?
Well…I have always loved animals and drawing them! One of my favourite animals being the elephant, I could draw them for hours. I started with an elephant and then since have drawn, monkeys, horses and hares. I create simple silhouettes first and then draw the pattern within it and colour in felt tip with a bright colour. I feel it’s a bold, modern and fun twist on traditional animal drawing.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Living on a farm, my main role is looking after my chickens, I have three different breeds including Buff Orpingtons, Pekins and Light Sussex and have bred these since I was 7 years old. So I spend most of my time pottering around outside checking that ‘chicken corner’ is under control.
Would you like to expand your stationery range?
At this stage I don’t think I will be expanding the stationery range however I think my designs would look really cool on t-shirts and maybe this might be something I look into next.

This year we will be returning to The Handmade Fair on The Green at Hampton Court Palace on the 16th-18th September. Last year we had a brilliant time and Kirsty even came behind our stand which was fantastic! The show is a real promotion of British design and craft with a real emphasis on handmade products which is right at the centre of our ethos here at IzziRainey. Currently here in the studio it is all go on the sewing machine to make sure we have enough pom poms on cushions, purses and pencil cases for everyone...Get your pom pom on! We will also be returning this year with some exciting new products including our hand stamped farm prints, every single one is unique and inspired by animals here on the farm. We look forward to seeing you all there!
