There is lots of excitement here today in the studio as we have just launched two brand new products on our website; our gorgeous Highland Cow tea towels and our new range of tea cosies which can both be found at www.izzirainey.com. Our tea cosies come in a selection of 3 IzziRainey designs and would definitely add a pop of print to your kitchen table.
We are also excited about sending off lots of IzziRainey goodies to two stockists, The Glasgow School of Art Shop (http://www.gsashop.co.uk) and to our brand NEW stockist at the Wiveton Hall cafe, which has been featured on "Normal for Norfolk" on BBC2.
As some of you may know we are taking part in Norwich and Norfolk Open Studios this year! Open Studios is a fantastic organisation that enables artists and designers to open the doors to their studios for two weeks in the Summer, to sell their work and meet lots of people in their local area. In Norfolk lots of local artists take part in Open Studios which all started this week with a wonderful Taster Exhibition in the Forum in Norwich. There is some really amazing pieces in the exhibition, all of which are so varied across all specialisms.
We will be opening our studio from Saturday the 28th of May for two weeks as part of Open Studios. We are part of the Foulsham Art Trail which includes, our work, Sally Ann Rainey's beautifully embroidered textiles and the work of ceramicist Kate Vogler whose work is photographed below. Please do take some time to go and visit some of the wonderful Norfolk artists in their studios across the county.
What a day we had at the Hunny Bell Craft Market. We were so overwhelmed by how many people came and visited the market and supported the fantastic Hunworth Defibrillator Appeal that we were raising money for.
A big thank you must go to all of our stallholders for making the event happen, to the Hunny Bell for having us and to Pointen's Estate agency for sponsoring the event and for all their support! We are so pleased to announce that we raised over £700 for the defibrillator appeal in Hunworth. It was a really fantastic day and we are planning a big Christmas extravaganza...watch this space!
As the weather starts to improve, there is no better place to be, than here on the farm. Our cows are only a month away from their due dates but we have had to move them further from the farm for grazing. However, they will be brought back to the farm to calve so that we can keep a eye on them in their first few weeks. Until then the cows still need to be checked on every day to make sure everyone is where they are meant to be. Everything was going smoothly until they managed to snap the rope to the connecting meadow and thought they fancied a change of scenery, as the saying goes 'the grass is always greener!'. Bit of a palava but nothing a bucket of feed didn't solve and they were soon back where they were meant to be!
It is not long now until the up and upcoming 'Hunny Bell Craft Market' which we are organising at The Hunny Bell in Hunworth on Saturday the 9th of April! We would love to see as many people there as possible to help raise money for the Hunworth Defibrillator Appeal. We have got lots of wonderful stalls joining us including; the delicious Candis Chutneys, Flint Cottage, Polly's Bakery, Dandy Lions Apothecary and lots more! We are also holding a raffle which is full of some fantastic prizes including a Steak Night Voucher from the Hunny Bell which is worth £40, a gorgeous scarf from Norfolk designer Lucy Sheringham, a photographic print from Norfolk wildlife photographer Roger Tidman plus many many more!
